The board of ESN VU Amsterdam 2018-2019 is composed of six enthusiastic and internationally-minded students. They run ESN VU Amsterdam on a daily basis as volunteers and are responsible for the association with more than 1000 members from all over the world!
Hello dear ESNers! Welcome to Amsterdam, the city that lies below sea level, the city of numerous bikes and really tall people (yes really tall). Welcome to your new home! I am Konstantinos and I will be the President of ESN VU Amsterdam for the upcoming year. I was born and raised in Athens, moved to Amsterdam for my BSc in International Business Administration and went on exchange to Lisbon. While on my exchange, ESN Lisbon gave me the chance to meet all of my Erasmus friends through all the trips and parties and ever since I left my exchange, I was looking for ways to get back to this unique feeling. When I saw ESN VU Amsterdam’s board recruitment post, I thought to myself that it’s the perfect chance to get that Erasmus feeling again and together with the rest of the board organise amazing events and show you what Amsterdam has to offer, from the perspective of 6 students. All of us in the board, will make sure to make it a year for you to remember and create memories that will last forever.
We are looking forward to meeting you all in Amsterdam. Have a safe trip and tot ziens!
PS: Once Erasmus Always Erasmus.

Welcome to Amsterdam! I’m excited to meet all of you and get to know everyone! My name is Selma and I’m going to be the ESN VU Amsterdam secretary this academic year. Like all of you, I’m an international student myself — I moved here from Finland 2 years ago to study psychology and it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. I’ve always been interested in exploring new cultures and I’ve spent quite a lot of time abroad, so joining ESN was a natural continuation. I’ve found amazing friends and gained unique experiences through it and I want to make sure that’s the case for you as well! Amsterdam really has something to offer to everyone so I’m stoked to introduce you guys to the city and I’m looking forward to seeing y’all at our events and around uni. Like a true Finn, I’m a coffee addict so don’t hesitate to join me and the rest of the board during office hours to chat over coffee and snacks!
Welcome / Welkom / Tervetuloa!

Nadja, Cultural Events Manager
Hello guys! Welcome to the most awesome and amazing city -Amsterdam! I’m Nadja and I will be the cultural events manager for ESN VU Amsterdam this year. I was born in Germany and grew up in Poland then finished my high school in England. Now, I’m studying psychology here, in Amsterdam. Beside my studies I love to dance. At the moment, I’m exploring the world of Latin dances so if you’re into salsa or bachata, or you just want to give it a try, then I’m your woman! So let me know and we can go together! My goal for this year is to make sure that during your exchange you will not only come back home with amazing party memories but also valuable cultural knowledge. Therefore, together with a cultural committee I will give my best to organize the most amazing trips and cultural activities that will give you an opportunity to explore the culture inside and outside of the Netherlands. So guys! I hope you will have a blast during your exchange and I’m looking forward to meet you all at the social and cultural events!

Hey everyone! My name is Ameet and I am your treasurer this year. It is my job to make sure the association stays financially healthy. You might not have guessed it, but I am actually the only Dutchman in this board. Born and raised in the Netherlands, I will try my best to help you adapt to our way of life! As a med student, I did my own exchange in Leeds in the UK. This experience motivated me to engage in this amazing association called ESN VU Amsterdam and help fellow international students make the most out of their time abroad. We are here to help you feel at home, make new friends and see new places. Amsterdam has a lot to offer and may at times even be overwhelming. Therefore, do not hesitate to talk to us. I know I am looking forward to meeting all of you!
